Sesquicentennial
Events
Throughout the month
Statewide
To wrap up the year-long celebration
of Nebraska's sesquicentennial, attend
the play SNOWCATCHER Dec. 3-4 at
the Tassel Performing Arts Center in
Holdrege. Written and performed by
Becky Boesen, this live performance
was inspired by the Schoolchildren's
Blizzard of 1888, and gives a voice to
both the victims of the storm and to
the children of today who
are searching for a place
to truly call "home." Find
more information and
other sesquicentennial
events at ne150.org/
calendar.

Watch the Geminid Meteor Shower Dec. 14-17 Statewide
You can view this bright, intensely-colored meteor shower anywhere with clear, dark skies Dec. 14-17. During the peak on Dec. 14,
you may see more than 120 meteors per hour. "This is one of the strongest meteor events during the year, and one to which most
enthusiasts look forward," commented Monica Macoubrie from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
