for several minutes before finally lowering his
wings and continuing his pursuit of the hens.
It was June 1, one day after the hunting season
closed.
They just seem to know that they'll keep you
awake for the rest of the year.
But this year will be different. For we have
a four-man crew now – a gum-chewing,
fiddle listening, elementary-school-skipping
group of first-year, second-year, and lifelong
hunters who want nothing more than to settle
a score from the year before – as well as start
a new rivalry with another one of our favorite
Nebraska gamebirds.
