Spring Turkey Hunting
Shotgun season starts April 14
Statewide
Put on your camo and grab your shotgun – spring turkey
season is here. With a little planning, you can have a
great experience. Big Game Program Manager Kit Hams
recommends taking food with you, camping overnight,
avoiding rain or snow, bringing a kid with you ("They have
better hearing than old people and are more entertaining,"
he quipped), taking bug spray, and tucking in shirts and
pant legs to avoid ticks and chiggers. You can also take
along a fi shing rod, as turkeys are often heard and spotted
around lakes.
