N ebraska has a history of solid representation in Safari Club International on a local and national level. We can proudly include names of leaders such as Jim Ernst, Gloria Erickson, John Kohl and many others who have served the Nebraska chapter of Safari Club International as well the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, Operation Game Thief, and a host of other organizations that have received the benefit of their leadership. Dozens of others have served our chapter in this capacity to ensure that the thousands of other outdoor enthusiasts in Nebraska, as well the rest of the country, have opportunities available to hunt, fish and enjoy the outdoors. Our current leadership is just as dedicated. Mary Middleton is the current Nebraska Chapter president. She serves as a member of the Safari Club International board of directors and also as a director on the board of SCI Education/Sables, which guides the organization's education efforts. Education is near and dear to her heart, and Mary works for your voices to be heard and represented. The SCI regional representative is Nebraskan Cal Campbell. Cal represents Safari Club in our region, which includes Nebraska, South Dakota and Iowa. He has also served as our chapter president. Another member is Greg Middleton. Greg is currently the chair of the AWLS committee, which oversees the American Wilderness Leadership School near Jackson, Wyoming. He is also the chair of the Sables/Education Dream Hunt committee which helps provide crucial funding for education through auction at the annual convention in Reno. Greg also serves as a co-chair of the SCI convention committee. Under their leadership, the SCI strives to serve its members via education, conservation and hunters' rights. To join us at the SCI, a truly First for Hunters organization, or for additional information, call (402) 214- 8270 or email nebraska.safariclubint@gmail.com.
