N 1875 Grand Thanksgiving Ball Nov. 15, 5:30 to 8 p.m. | Fort Hartsuff State Historical Park Celebrate the 150th anniversary of Fort Hartsuff with a re-creation of the 1875 Grand Thanksgiving Ball. The Enlisted Men's Barracks will be decorated for a period-correct catered supper, music and dancing. Daytime activities will occur ahead of the event, including dance rehearsal, a shooting demonstration and more. Tickets are $35 per person (must be 18 years or older). A valid Nebraska state park vehicle permit is required for entry. Contact the park at 308-346-4715 for more details. Enjoy off -season discounted camping rates throughout the weekend. Halloween activities will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday including a pumpkin-painting contest and a camper- or campsite-decorating contest.
