January-February 2019 • Nebraskaland 61 This is my late husband, Loren Gebers, fishing in 1980. He loved to fish from his youth, since the family had a creek on their farm. I was thrilled to take his picture with this "big catch." – Inez Gebers, Johnson, Nebraska Great day of pheasant hunting in northeastern Nebraska around Laurel and Dixon, back when 10-year CRP was great. There were lots of birds, friendships and laughs. Left to right: Ron Hirschman, dog Duke, George Paidousis, Cortny Berg, Steve Sorensen, unknown, Ryan Schear, me, Casimir Tluchausb, Tom Shear, and dog Chelsey. Not pictured is Howard Lammers. – Charles Hirschman, Laurel, Nebraska Send contributions to: Portraits from the Past, Nebraskaland Magazine, P.O. Box 30370, Lincoln, NE 68503-0370.
