YOUR NEBRASKA
By Dakota Altman
(@dakotaltman): "A beautiful
common garter snake
gracefully navigates its way
through a blowout in the
warm light of a Sandhills
evening before being picked
up by curious herpers. Its
movements seem effortless,
using musculature and scales
to push against the sand
substrate and surrounding
vegetation."
By Rebecca Johnson (@thecoloringtree):
"Photographing foxes may be my new favorite
thing. Especially when you're hiding behind a
nearby tree, happily clicking away and one of
the fox kits decides to find out why the tree is
making such funny noises. So, he trots right
up to you and sits down an arm's length away
and blinks up with his shiny brown eyes. And
for a moment, the world is just perfect."
