Nebraska's park system is filled with beautiful gems that
are great places to spend a relaxing day or weekend. Let us
introduce you to a few of them (and hand out some prizes in
the process) with the 2019 Great Park Pursuit.
Here's how it works: Sign up your team at negpp.org and
start picking sites to visit from the official list. Once there,
you'll follow clues to a post hidden somewhere on the
property and submit proof you were there to be entered into a
drawing for outdoor prizes. Past prizes have included an iPad,
free cabin stays, Nebraskaland Magazine subscriptions and
calendars, gift cards, and outdoor recreation packages worth
up to $1,500. The more parks you visit, the better your odds.
Taking part in the pursuit is even easier this year with the
addition of an app that makes logging in your site visits fast
and easy. No need to bring along the crayons and a rubbing
sheet, unless you like the traditional rubbing method. The
app can be found on both iOS and Android.
Since 2008, more than 22,000 Nebraskans have enjoyed
the adventure the Great Park Pursuit offers. The goal of
the pursuit, a partnership between the Nebraska Game
and Parks Commission and the Nebraska Recreation and
Park Association, is to get people active, enjoying the
outdoors, and learning more about Nebraska's great outdoor
recreation opportunities. It's free to sign up and participate
in the program – the only cost involved is mailing in your
impressions, if you choose not to use the app; and paying for
entry into some park sites.
