First Time Fishing
I thought I'd tell you a fun little story that happened this past
summer. I took my four grandkids down to fish on a private
pond near Crete. This was their first time fishing so they were
very excited. We baited up hooks and managed to get all four
poles in the water. After about five minutes nine-year-old
Zacharie excitely exclaimed "I got a fish!" The next second,
seven-year-old Henry screamed, "I got a fish too!" The two
boys were working their reels pulling in their first catches ever.
You can image our surprise when the one fish emerged from
the water and it had both hooks in its mouth! The boys starting
screaming, "We caught the same fish!"
This story will be told around the table for many years, even
when these young boys are grandpas. Cousins went fishing for
the first time, and the first fish they caught was the same fish!

KANSASland
I have lived in Kansas for almost 2 years now after spending
my years up to retirement in the state of Nebraska. We still
enjoy reading the magazine and learning more about Nebraska ...
wish Kansas had a KANSASland magazine.

Photo Special
Thank you so much for the
NEBRASKAland Collector's
photo magazine. I thoroughly
enjoyed the "armchair" tour
of our state! Keep up the
good work.
