Enjoy lighted hayrack rides, refreshments
and other family activities at Ponca
State Park's annual holiday kickoff event
beginning at 9 a.m. This is the first of many
holiday activities taking place at Nebraska's
state parks throughout the season. Bring
your cross-country skis, hiking boots and, of
course, cameras, and take advantage of the
many activities amid beautiful scenery this
park has to offer.

Learn the Basics
of Birding
A series of workshops at the Outdoor
Education Center in Lincoln will help new
birders learn the basics. Learn how to
attract birds to your backyard this winter
during the first of these workshops on
Thursday, Nov. 5. Learn about basic bird
ID on Thursday. Nov. 12. Both workshops
run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
