This American toad (Anaxyrus americanus) is excellent at his job of pest control, yet also falls prey to larger mammals, birds and even fish. They are very sensitive to fluctuations in water quality so it is important to pay attention to their health, because it may just indicate issues that can affect us as well. ▲
