The pond isn't the park's only
water attraction receiving recent
improvements. The swimming pool,
with its high vantage point on one of
the park's hillsides, has long provided a
respite to visitors looking to cool off in
a relaxing setting. Visitors returning to
the pool this summer will notice fully
renovated bath houses, which have
been modernized and follow guidelines
of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The park's disc golf course, added in
2013, is developing a great reputation
among players. Designed by Jake
Rodiek, an assistant superintendent
at the time who was once a junior
world champion disc golfer, the course
capitalizes on the park's naturally
rugged terrain and open greenspaces. It
will soon be expanded from nine to 18
baskets, providing an ideal location for
both casual play and tournaments.
Also in the works is an archery trail
with 14 targets. Archery has long been

Race near the park's Trading Post. The race is a popular children's event during the
park's annual anniversary celebration each June.
Under a summer sun, the author's daughter Kiera leaps from a diving board at the park's swimming pool. Recent upgrades to the
pool's bath houses will make it an even more popular attraction this summer.
