JUNE 2016 • NEBRASKAland 29 Long Pine State Recreation Area North-central Nebraska Pine trees shade a winding crystal-clear creek at Long Pine State Recreation Area. "This is one of my favorite places in Nebraska," Nguyen said. "It reminds me of California, where I grew up. It's not big, but it's a little hidden gem and a great place to camp. I often see turkey there. I enjoy catching brown trout out of the creek as well. It's where all of my brown trout photos have come from." PHOTO BY JENNY NGUYEN PHOTO BY JENNY NGUYEN
