A Hunter and His Retriever
When you picked me up it was love at first sight.
You called it days of training. I just thought it was called instincts.
I know the difference between the click of the door when you head off to work and
the click of the gun safe.
Neither snow nor rain nor sleet nor gloom of foggy mornings will ever be an
excuse not to take me hunting.
I appreciate how you feed me the most scientifically correct dog food, but I'll take
scrambled eggs, pancakes and bacon in a blind over that every day.
We work as a team. For me to do my part means your shots can't miss.
When the day is done all I'm thinking about is doing it all over again tomorrow.
