Winter Activities

Celebrate Christmas in the Woods at Ponca State Park!
Activities will be offered every Saturday Nov. 26 - Dec.17,
including crafts, cookie decorating, educational programs,
free family photos and lighted hayrack rides. We will
also kick off the beginning of the Third Annual Snowman
Building Contest Nov. 26 - March 19.
Come build a snowman near the mini lodges or Resource
and Education Center. When your snowman is complete,
stop by the Resource and Education Center to register your
entry. Photos will be taken and displayed throughout the
winter season in the center's lobby and on the Nebraska
Northeast Parks Facebook page. Prizes will be awarded for
first, second and third place.
On Dec. 31 – New Year's Eve – Ponca State Park
celebrates Winterfest, a day full of family-fun activities and
friendly competition. There will be crafts in the morning, the
National Fruitcake Fling at high noon, a 3K Yule Log Quest
in the afternoon and guided hayrack rides at dusk.
