This picture was taken around 1964 at my dad's
farm in Hooper. I am the rider. If you look at the left
rear leg of the horse, you can see the dust cloud as
the horse slipped. She then fell over backwards with
me still in the saddle. Lucky for me I ended up sort
of on the side of the horse on my left leg. I was hurt
but not too bad, missed about one week of work.
This was a neat horse to ride but you better hang
on. I still have horses but nowadays I just enjoy
looking at them. I now live in Minnesota. My brother
Dale Alberts took the picture; he lives in Cedar
Bluffs, Nebraska.

I loved to fish and hunt and have done it all my life. Left
picture is me from 1984 with a few bass. In 1996 I caught a
7 lb. 12 oz. largemouth on only 6-pound line. I fished mostly
around Hickman and a few farm ponds.
I deer hunted 63 straight years and got a deer 61 times
including this last year. I am 88 years old now and have
decided to stop deer hunting. Picture on right is me with deer
near Gothenberg in 1984. Most deer I hunted near Lincoln.
I've gotten one 18-pointer and lots of 4 and 5 point deer.
