One morning in March, Brian Ubben of Ceresco took this sunrise photo with his Nikon Coolpix camera near Lincoln. Brenda Creigh of Grand Island shared this photo of a red-winged blackbird she saw by the Alda Bridge Crane Viewing Site near the Platte River. "I spotted this horned lark north of Minden while watching the cranes," said Bobbi Heitman of Minden. "He then started turning his head like he was really wondering what I was up to. He even jumped up and down on the post like he was trying to get my attention. He was fun to watch." 4 NEBRASKAland • MAY 2017
