simple joy of seeing deer in the first place

good reason. A deer is a portrait of both
elegance and attentiveness. Anyone who
has spent more than a few hours in a deer
stand will tell about the time that a deer
popped out of the ground, seemingly
appearing from nowhere.
These animals will frequently pause and
raise their nose in an effort to smell while
walking afield. They'll also stomp their
hooves, direct their glance away, and then
suddenly wheel toward the hunter, waiting
for any movement. They are the epitome
of caution, ready to blow at you at any
moment when the situation becomes too
