Outdoor Cooking
Throughout the month
Statewide
Cooking outdoors isn't just for summer grilling. Outdoor Education Specialist Julia
Plugge recommends outdoor cooking in the fall for a number of reasons: you'll
welcome the heat, rather than tolerating the sweat it brings in warmer temperatures;
there's no need for bug spray; and many fall favorites, such as soup, are perfect for
outdoor cooking. "This Thanksgiving, free up your oven and make a pumpkin dessert
in the Dutch oven," Plugge writes.
