Outdoor Education Specialist Julia Plugge recommends outdoor cooking in the fall for a number of reasons: you'll welcome the heat, rather than tolerating the sweat it brings in warmer temperatures; there's no need for bug spray; and many fall favorites, such as soup, are perfect for outdoor cooking.
