What to Do in January and February Time Well Spent I t's the start of a new year – what surprises could your outdoor adventures hold in 2018? They can begin right now with some suggestions below. For more information on outdoor events across the state, visit Calendar.OutdoorNebraska.gov. ■ See Bald Eagles at the Lake Ogallala Eagle Viewing Center Weekends from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Lake Ogallala Eagles can be seen year-round across the state, but winter and early spring are the best times to see large numbers of eagles. A great place to go right now is the Lake Ogallala Eagle Viewing Center located below Kingsley Dam. The center is open for eagle viewing on weekends in January and February from 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. Stop by at 9 a.m. or 12 p.m. to see a fun presentation by the park naturalist.
