I found the cocoon to the right of the
features column on page 3 of my recent
NEBRASKAland Magazine. I think the
cocoon is probably either a butterfly or
most likely a locust cocoon (early life
feature). I have found several when we
plow our garden, but I really did not
know for sure which as we often see
the shells only on trees after emerging
from the cocoon.
Do enjoy the magazine, but Roger
Welsch's articles are a favorite. So often
he tells of things that I encountered
as a youngster growing up in central
Nebraska.
