4 NEBRASKAland • MARCH 2018 Jerry Kostal of Papillion photographed this muskrat at Walnut Creek Recreation Area. Russ Coffey from York checked his trail cameras and caught this interesting picture of deer. Visitor Letters I found the cocoon to the right of the features column on page 3 of my recent NEBRASKAland Magazine. I think the cocoon is probably either a butterfly or most likely a locust cocoon (early life feature). I have found several when we plow our garden, but I really did not know for sure which as we often see the shells only on trees after emerging from the cocoon. Do enjoy the magazine, but Roger Welsch's articles are a favorite. So often he tells of things that I encountered as a youngster growing up in central Nebraska. Leo Turner Lisco, Nebraska Amazing! Outstanding! Absolutely gorgeous photography!!! No wonder the visiting bug didn't want to be seen in this latest issue. G. E. Dave Fuller Lincoln, Nebraska We found the critter on page 35 in the water – a little black bear! Brenda and Roger Sent via e-mail
