76 NEBRASKAland • AUGUST-SEPTEMBER 2016 Along the Road T he Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will return to the Nebraska Building for the 2016 Nebraska State Fair with a full schedule of activities for the whole family. Popular features and activities including an indoor archery range, indoor air gun range, kids' Nerf gun range, 6,000-gallon aquarium featuring Nebraska fish, bighorn sheep exhibit, NEBRASKAland Magazine photo display, indoor and outdoor meandering streams, outdoor playground, kids' games, demonstrations and more will be back in 2016. New this year is a kids' educational outdoor fort. Nebraska Game and Parks staff and volunteers will give a variety of presentations over the course of the fair on topics, including turkey calls, fish cleaning, outdoor photography, pollinator gardens and outdoor cooking with kids, among others. The Nebraska State Fair takes place in Grand Island Aug. 26 through Sept. 5.
