The Aftermath
E
ach family faded
back toward the city
throughout the afternoon,
agreeing to do it again
the next fall. Since that
weekend, I've heard
from each of the families
throughout the year, who
all agreed that the snow-
covered trip to Ponca would
go down in history as one of
the best, if not the best, in
our time visiting.
What Ponca State Park
showed us was that it
doesn't matter what the
weather is. If it's raining,
we'll play in the mini-
lodges. If it's autumn-like,
w e'll hike the trails, ride the
roads, and look for wildlife.
And if it snows, all we need
are the sleds. And a camera.
For the world totally
opens up at Ponca when it's
blanketed by white.
