These free events are designed to make fi shing fun and rewarding for newcomers of all ages. Rods and reels, as well as bait and fi shing instruction, will be available for free. Visit OutdoorNebraska.org/familyfi shing for dates and locations. Rock Creek Trail Days June 3-4 Rock Creek Station State Historical Park Get a peek at the inner workings of a mid- 19th century Nebraska stage and Pony Express station during Rock Creek Trail Days, held the fi rst weekend in June. Living history interpreters will reenact the bloody skirmish that helped earn "Wild Bill" Hickok his name, and demonstrate activities such as fl int knapping, blacksmithing and hawk throwing. A buffalo stew cookout will be held on Saturday. Tickets are available until noon on June 2 at the Fairbury Chamber of Commerce and at the Rock Creek Station Visitor Center on Saturday.
