Dinnertime at my
house alongside two
elementary school
kids is consumed
by what has become
known as The
Animal Game. It's
quite simple to play.
Start with any letter
of the alphabet and
then each person has
to name an animal
that starts with
that letter. If the
animal is repeated
or a participant
can't come up with
an animal, then they are eliminated from that round. The
winner of each round decides the next letter that will be
used.
For an even more challenging game, create the rules that
competitors can only state Nebraska animals. Before long,
if your kids are like mine, they'll be bringing home library
books, secretly hiding them in their rooms, and using them
for reference before they come to the dining room table. ■
