Duck hunting near Gordon in 1938 was (from
left to right) Otto Pribnow, Sr., Floyd Kling, LeRoy
Poppe and my father Carl Poppe.
Otto Pribnow and Carl Poppe would take their
families to visit the Arnold Kling and Ernest
Poppe families near Gordon, Nebraska. The men
would also go hunting. Otto and Arnold were
brothers-in-law of Carl and Ernest.

This is a picture of my father, J. Virtus Sehi,
with a huge white-tailed deer he took in Northern
Antelope County in 1958. I think he told me that
he tracked it for almost 4 miles before taking it.
He is standing in front of the Wanek Drug Store
(which was right next to our bar, The White Spot)
on main street of Neligh with deer draped over
the hood of his 1948 Ford hunting car. He would
have been 34 years old at the time and he was
very proud of that deer.
