Shooting from Each month, the Schramm Park Photography Club meets at Ak-sar- ben Aquarium outside of Gretna where members share photography techniques and their pictures. Some of these members are fortunate enough to find their images displayed at the aquarium, and it was here where I first had the opportunity to see Lincoln photographer Steve Zechmann's work. Zechmann's images, usually of local species, jumped off the wall to me during repeated trips to the aquarium with my family – to the point where I began recognizing his pictures before ever reading his name. It was then that I wanted to know more about this Nebraska photographer. Now in his 60s with a wiry stature and deep, scratchy voice, Zechmann 58 NEBRASKAland • OCTOBER 2014
